Flying Start is the Welsh Government’s targeted Early Years initiative designed for families with children

under four in some of Wales' most disadvantaged areas.

This program ranks among the Welsh Government’s highest priorities.

What Flying Start Offers in Practice

​

The program encompasses key elements drawn from various strategies proven to foster positive outcomes for children and their families. These elements include:

• Free, high-quality part-time childcare for children aged 2 to 3 years.

• An enhanced Health Visiting service.

• Access to parenting programs.

• Support for early language development.
