Places Called Home

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our application for the 'Places Called Home' grant has been successful! This grant is a collaborative initiative between IKEA and The National Lottery Community Fund, aimed at fostering thriving, resilient, and sustainable communities throughout the UK. We are grateful for this opportunity to enhance our local community and contribute to its wellbeing.

How Has the Grant Benefited Us?

With the support of this grant, we undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of one of our rooms in The Feel Good Factory. This transformed space has now become an essential Food Pantry and Warm Space for members of our community. Our goal was to create an inviting and accessible environment where anyone can come to find support and nourishment.

In designing this space, we chose to incorporate a variety of IKEA products, ensuring that the atmosphere is both welcoming and homely. We wanted visitors to experience the versatility of IKEA furniture, showcasing how these items can serve different purposes beyond their conventional uses at home. This approach not only enhances the aesthetic of our space but also inspires our community members to reimagine how they can utilize similar products in their own lives.

To give you a glimpse of the amazing work being done across the UK, we have included a short video created by the fund. This video highlights some of the inspiring projects supported by the grant, showcasing the positive impact on communities just like ours.

We invite everyone to come and experience the newly refurbished space and see firsthand the difference this grant has made in our community!
