Bryncynon Strategy work within the Lower Cynon Valley and provided venues and services for a variety of different activities and events.  We have 3 building in which we work from:

The Feel Good Factory

​

The Feel Good Factory is The Strategy’s state of the art Healthy Living Centre building, where the aim is to tackle ill health and the wider determinants affecting health within the community of Bryncynon.

 

It is a large, multi-purpose beautifully appointed building offering the community access to a broad range of projects and services to help them improve their levels of health and well-being. The building will provide the venue for clinics and a broad programme of health education and promotions, healthy eating projects such as a food co-operative and healthy cookery classes and exercise and dance classes.

 

The project will work with all sections of the community while providing projects to support specific target groups of people such as young children and their families.

Bryncynon Community Centre

Bryncynon Community Centre is being leased to ourselves as part of RCTCBC's 'Community Asset Transfer' program. The centre was in a state of disrepair when we took on the lease in 2019 but with thanks to the funding from the local authority we were able to put it right and back into community use.  This was not without issue though, with work half way through we suffered further damage due to Storm Dennis meaning much of the work had to be re completed and then the Covid-19 Pandemic hit, forcing the work to stop.  We finally opened services during the summer of 2021 and it now serves it purpose for us as our Children and Family Centre allowing us to focus the activities and services it provides.

The Centre boasts a large hall space, and access directly onto playing fields which is perfect for our children's activities.  It also has a fully fitted Sensory room that will only add to the range of activities that can take place from there going forward.  Although the building is being utilised as our Children and Family Centre, we are keen to work with the community on delivering programmes and activities based around their needs so there will be capacity to deliver other activities as required.

Bryncynon Growing Together Centre

​

Growing Together Centre is our childcare centre aimed specifically at children under the age of 8, It is large enough to take 26 children per session.  We currently deliver part time sessions twice per day for Flying Start and also operate the Welsh Governments Childcare offer.

​

The building a former clinic, has been fully refurbished to cater for young children to develop and flourish in a calm and fully furnished enviroment, fitted with an internal soft play area and having a safe covered outdoor area.
