What we do

Bryncynon Strategy operates within the Lower Cynon Valley, offering venues and services for a diverse range of activities and events. We manage three key facilities:

The Feel Good Factory

The Feel Good Factory is Bryncynon Strategy’s cutting-edge Healthy Healthy Living Centre, designed to address health issues and the broader factors influencing well-being in our community  This spacious, multi-purpose facility is beautifully appointed and offers access to a wide range of projects and services aimed at enhancing health and well-being.

The centre hosts a community food pantry, a community cafe, and access to much needed community events and programmes that include, advise surgeries, cookery course, adult education and soft skills courses designed to improve health and well-being. The facilitiy is available for anyone to access, we engage will a all sections of the community while providing projects to support specific target groups of people such as young children and their families.

Growing Together Centre

The Growing Together Centre is our childcare facility specifically designed for children under the age of 5. It can accommodate up to 26 children per session and currently offers part-time sessions twice a day for the Flying Start program, as well as the Welsh Government’s Childcare Offer.

Housed in a fully refurbished former clinic, the centre provides a calm, fully-equipped environment for young children to grow and thrive. It features an internal soft play area and a safe, covered outdoor space.

Bryncynon Community Centre

Bryncynon Community Centre is leased to us through RCTCBC's 'Community Asset Transfer' program. When we took over the lease in 2019, the centre was in disrepair. Thanks to funding from the local authority, we were able to restore it for community use. However, we faced challenges along the way; during renovations, Storm Dennis caused additional damage, requiring us to redo much of the work. The Covid-19 pandemic then halted our progress. We finally opened our services in the summer of 2021, and the centre now functions as our Children and Family Centre, allowing us to focus on the activities and services it offers.

The centre features a spacious hall and direct access to playing fields, making it ideal for children's activities. It also includes a fully equipped sensory room, enhancing the range of activities we can provide. While the building primarily serves as our Children and Family Centre, we are eager to collaborate with the community to deliver programs and activities tailored to their needs, ensuring there’s capacity for additional offerings as required.

The Bryncynon Community Centre is conveniently located just 1.5 miles from the A470, at the lower end of the Cynon Valley. Its ideal location allows it to serve the entire Rhondda, Cynon, Taff, and Merthyr Valley areas.
